Technical education system has shown tremendous growth during the last two decades and quality of technical education system is under criticism. The various sub-components of the system namely, input, curriculum and instructional processes, output, resources, management etc. need improvement. For introducing changes in the system, data and information need to be systematically gathered, analyzed and interpreted. In other words, systematic research needs to be undertaken. Educational research can provide laudable support to teachers in various aspects of teaching-learning and other related activities undertaken by them. Undertaking or conducting research involves formulating research proposal, organizing and conducting research, writing research report and evaluating research. The course on “Research in Technical Education: aims at enabling the learners to acquire the capabilities of selecting and defining research problem, describing the methodology of research, collecting the data and analyzing and interpreting the results to conduct the research effectively.

Dr. (Ms) PK Tulsi, a former Professor of NITTTR, Chandigarh, has thirty four years of experience in teaching and research. She has occupied several positions during her career including that of Head of Education & Educational Management Department for eleven years and Dean, R& D for three years. She has taught courses like Research Methodology, HRD & Training Methods, Performance Evaluation,  Educational Technology etc. to students of Master's in Engineering Education and Master's in Engineering. She has coordinated about five hundred faculty development programmes in the areas of education and education management including Induction Training Programmes for newly recruited faculty.She has presented papers at national and international conferences in India and abroad and undertaken thirty three research studies in Technical Education including sponsored research projects.

If You wish to Get certified on this course you must register and write the proctored exam conducted by SWAYAM in person at any of the designated exam centers.
  • The Registration fee for the proctored exam is Rs 1000/- (Rupees one thousand only).
  • Date and Time of Exam: 2nd Saturday & Sunday of May (tentative); 
  • Announcements will be made when the exam registration form is open for registrations along with the url
  • The online registration form has to be filled and the certification exam fee needs to be paid. More details will be made available when the exam registration form is published. If there are any changes, it will be mentioned then.
  • Please check the form for more details on the cities where the exams will be held, the conditions you agree to when you fill the form etc.

CRITERIA TO GET A CERTIFICATE:
  • Internal assignment score = 30%, The average of best 3 assignments out of the total assignments given in the course.
  • Exam score = 70% of the proctored exam score out of 100
  • Final score = Average assignment score + Exam score
  • You will be eligible for a certificate only if average assignment score >=10/30 and exam score >= 30/70
  • Certificate will have your name, photograph, roll number and the percentage of score in the final exam. It will have the logos of MHRD (Ministry of Human Resource Development), SWAYAM and NITTTR. 
  • Only the e-certificate will be made available. Hard copies will not be dispatched.
