Pedagogy is a very popular term among teachers. Some have defined it as science, some as art, as a craft. It is defined as the craft or the art and science of teaching students. It is also about the study of how knowledge and skills that to be imparted in an educational context. It is also about critically educating people to be self-reflective, capable of critically addressing their relationship with others and with the larger world.

One of the major lessons learnt from the recent pandemic, is the need for flexibility in imparting education. In our country, we teachers in the institutes of higher education could never imagine that we have to shift to a virtual mode overnight. All the teachers had come through a time of uncertainty & crisis, and, here comes resilient pedagogy. Even now, in our country, though the educational institutes have reopened and are functioning offline, some of the instructional practices which were followed during the pandemic are still continuing. Hence, the need for resilient pedagogy is felt so that learning can be more responsive to the changed conditions due to disruption.

Though disruption has always been there for our students in the learning environment. With an understanding of resilient pedagogy, we can plan for equitable and effective teaching practices during and even after the times of crisis. Resilient pedagogy comprises the course design strategy and other related approaches that support all the learning teaching activities as resistant to disruption as possible.

As the name goes that resilient pedagogy involves multidisciplinary response to teaching practices, this course will begin with the theoretical perspectives of learning and will then pave the way to the practical aspects.
