Research and innovation play a crucial role in the development of new processes, products and services.  Support systems and networking at the local, regional and national levels need to be encouraged and developed to undertake socially relevant researches, launching start-ups and enterprises.   Commercialisation, technology transfer and protection of output of research such as new processes, prototype / product development is essential in today’s competitive and fast-changing environment of    Globalisation and industrialization. Research and social innovation with a philanthropic approach need to be encouraged as a way to mitigate social problems, resulting in new or improved solutions, for the community at large.

 

Faculty of technical institutions need to play an active role in promoting research and innovation of social relevance to remain at the frontiers of development with a strong base of networking and fundraising. They need to be trained and updated in concepts and related dimensions of Research, Innovation, Creativity, Design Thinking, Process & Product development, Value Engineering, Intellectual Property Rights, Start-ups,  Entrepreneurship, Technology-transfer, Social Innovation, Philanthropy, Commercialisation, Fundraising, Technology Forecasting and Scenario Planning so that they, in turn, can develop the culture of research, innovation and all these dimensions in students who are the torchbearers for tomorrow.

Prof. R. K. Dixit

National Institute of Technical Teachers’ Training and Research, Bhopal
Prof. R.K.Dixit is currently working as Professor in the Department of Management Education at National Institute of Technical Teachers’ Training and Research, Bhopal. He is having 33 years of experience in training, education, research, industry, consultancy and extension activities. He has published more than 50 research papers. He has conducted more than 50 visits for accreditation of under-graduate and post graduate engineering programmes as well as diploma (engineering) programmes as a chairman and an expert-member. He has been consultant, the World Bank, The Govt. of Madagascar, National Project Implementation Unit and various state governments for technical education.
