In
the present Post Covid-19 scenario, unemployment has become one of the major
concerns. The severity of this problem has been aggravated by increasing
population, automation in industries along with various other associated
socio-economic problems. Developing expertise among youth to set up their-own
enterprise could be one of the solutions to curb the issue. The aspect of
developing expertise in business start-up involves development of capability of
opportunity identification, innovative mind-set, development of technology,
protecting one’s own developed intellect. This capacity building is further to
be complemented by the knowledge about the policies and programs of Government
initiated at the National Level such as: under AtmaNirbhar Bharat Abhiyan, Make
in India, Start-up India, Stand-up India, Digital India Programs etc., role and
functioning of the Ministry for the promotion of Skill Development and
Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Liberal financing of ventures through schemes like
Collateral free loans for business Mudra Loan, and other Bank Schemes, States
and Union Territories level policy initiatives to create business ventures in
the country. The role of incubator for business start-up push and their initial
support for digital marketing and management also need to be imparted. This module has been designed to train the senior faculty of technical
institutions to address all the above concerns. It is full of
real life case studies and will develop requisite knowledge, skills and attitudes amongst faculty
towards institutional management for promoting and developing entrepreneurship
and business start-ups amongst the students.
MODULE OUTCOMES
After going through this module, the learner will be able to:
· Develop understanding about the complete process of business start-up and managing an enterprise.
· Appreciate the importance of innovations and technology development in the path to business start-up.
· Gather information pertaining to set-up and management of incubation centres in institutions.
· Improve understanding of rural centred entrepreneurship, Digital Marketing and Branding, patenting and dealing with the intricacies of IPR issues.

Dr.
Suresh Kumar Dhameja is Professor in the Department of Entrepreneurship
Development & Industrial Coordination (EDIC) at National Institute of
Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR), Chandigarh which has been
set up by Ministry of Education, Government of India. He is former Dean,
Academic and International Affairs, and has also headed the Departments of
EDIC, Information Management & Emerging Engineering (IMEE) and was Chairman
of Academic Cell at NITTTR Chandigarh. He has also held the positions of Chief
Vigilance Officer (appointed by Central Vigilance Commissions, Govt. of India),
Member-Secretary, Academic Council and Member, Board of Governors, NITTTR
Chandigarh.
Prof.
Dhameja did his Bachelor of Engineering (Civil Engg.) from Punjab Engineering
College, Chandigarh, M.Tech from NIT Kurukshetra followed by MBA and Ph.D. in
Business Management from premier universities of India. Dr. Dhameja started his
career as a Faculty in Civil Engineering at NIT Kurukshetra in 1985 and has a
total work experience of 38 Years of Teaching and Training. He also has 3 years
of International experience as Faculty Consultant at Colombo Plan Staff College
(CPSC) in Manila, Philippines from 2005 to 2008. At CPSC he was also the Chairman of Training and Research
Divisions and Director of General Services Division.
Prof. Dhameja has visited more than
30 countries (including USA, UK,
Canada, Australia, Germany, South Korea, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Mongolia,
Vietnam) multiple times for conducting training programs and consultancy
assignments. Dr. Dhameja initiated accreditation of technical institutions in
Asia Pacific Region under APACC (Asia Pacific Accreditation and Certification
Commission), Philippines in 2008. He has led international team of accreditors
in Philippines, Bangladesh, India and Malaysia. Prof. Dhameja has delivered
invited lectures in ADBI Japan, International Organization of Migration (IOM)
Thailand, Colombo Plan Secretariat (CPS) Sri Lanka, Tehran Chamber of Commerce
and Industries, Iran and is on the panel of many international and national
organizations. Dr. Dhameja has done consultancy projects in TVET for UNESCO,
UNEVOC, ADB, ADBI and World Bank.
Professor
Dhameja has published more than 40 papers in International and National
Journals, presented 143 papers in International and National Conferences and
has chaired technical sessions in many international and national conferences
both within the country and abroad. Dr. Dhameja has authored and Edited 59
Books (Both International and National) in Environmental Engineering and
Management, Environmental Science, Entrepreneurship, TVET and has prepared more
than 70 educational video films, 19 Web based Teaching Learning Systems in
addition to 2 MOOCS. He has guided 6 PhD and many M.Tech students both at
International and National Level. Dr. Dhameja is an ESBN Advisor and member of
Task Force on Women and Youth Entrepreneurship at UN-ESCAP Bangkok. Prof.
Dhameja has many honours and distinctions to his credit. He has received
letters of appreciation from many international dignitaries including
Ambassadors, United Nations Under- Secretary General, Director Generals and Secretary
Generals of many international organizations.
Co-Coordinator
Dr.
Niraj Bala is working as Professor in Entrepreneurship Development and
Industrial Coordination Department at National Institute of Technical Teachers
Training and Research (NITTTR), Chandigarh. Her areas of specialization are
Entrepreneurship, Intellectual Property Rights, Surface Engineering and
Manufacturing Practices. She was awarded ‘Best Engineering
College Teacher Award for Punjab State’ for the year 2012 by Indian Society for Technical Education
(ISTE), New Delhi, she was nominated for Best Ph.D.
thesis Award by NACE International Gateway India Section and awarded runner up
award. She got Smt. Sheela Baya National Award 2015 for outstanding contribution for Technology Advancement in
the field of Mechanical Engineering by IEI (India) Udaipur Local Centre.
She successfully carried out research projects sponsored by government. She has
been granted one patent. She has co-authored 2 text books and 4 book Chapters.
She has to her credit around 100 papers published in Journals and Conference
proceedings. She has guided 9 PhD candidates and 25 MTech students.

Grading Policy:
- Internal Assignment Score: This accounts for 30% of the final grade and is calculated based on the average of the best three assignments out of all the assignments given in the course.
- Final Proctored Exam Score: This makes up 70% of the final grade and is derived from the proctored exam score out of 100.
- Final Score: The final score is the sum of the average assignment score and the exam score.
Eligibility for Certification:
- To qualify for a certificate, you must achieve an average assignment score of at least 10 out of 30, and an exam score of at least 30 out of 70. If one of the 2 criteria is not met, you will not get the certificate even if the Final score >=40/100.
Certificate Details:
- The certificate will include your name, photograph, roll number, and the percentage score from the final exam. It will also feature the logos of the Ministry of Education, SWAYAM, and NITTTR.
- Certificate Format: Only electronic certificates (e-certificates) will be issued; hard copies will not be dispatched.
