Dr. Dwarakish G. S
received his B.Tech. degree in Civil Engineering in 1990 and
M.Tech.[Hydraulics] in 1993, both from The National Institute of Engineering,
Mysore, University of Mysore, Karnataka. He was awarded a Ph.D. in 2001 from
the Institute of Remote Sensing, Department of Civil Engineering, Anna
University, Chennai, India. He started his teaching career in 1993 as Assistant
Lecturer and currently he is serving as a Professor in the Dept. of Water
Resources and Ocean Engineering and working as Dean Academic. His areas of
specialization are Coastal Engineering, Remote Sensing, Digital Image
Processing and GIS. Under his able guidance, 14 B.Tech. Projects, 62 M.Tech.
Dissertations, 7 M.Sc. projects, 14 Ph.D. Scholars and 1 Post-Doctoral Scholar
have successfully completed their research work. Currently guiding 1 batch of B.Tech. project,
8 M.Tech., 3 M.Sc. Dissertations and 9 Ph.D. scholars.
He has completed 6 R & D
projects funded by MHRD, DST, ISRO/RESPOND, ICMAM-PD, MoEF and MoES, and
currently executing 2 projects. He has published 270+ technical papers in
National/International journals and conferences. He has also served as
Associate Dean [Students’ Welfare], Dean Planning and Development, Faculty
In-charge IIP Cell, Dy. Coordinator NIT Goa and Head of the Department, Water
Resources and Ocean Engineering, Chairman, Institute
Grievances Redressal Committee and Chairman, Staff Recreation Club. He is a
Fellow of the Institution of Engineers, India, and one of the four members of
the Panel of National Experts to review the ADB coastal erosion protection
projects. He is a recipient of the prestigious Prof. Satish Dhawan Young
Engineers State Award for the year 2013, instituted by the Government of
Karnataka in recognition of his outstanding contribution in the field of
Engineering Sciences. Excellence (Individual) instituted by Aqua Foundation,
New Delhi and Indo-US Consortium for Engineering Education [IUCEE] Faculty
Award 2016.
"The SWAYAM Course Enrolment and
learning is free. However, to obtain a certificate, the learner must register
and take the proctored exam in person at one of the designated exam centres.
The registration URL will be announced by NTA once the registration form
becomes available. To receive the certification, you need to complete the
online registration form and pay the examination fee. Additional details,
including any updates, will be provided upon the publication of the exam
registration form. For more information about the exam locations and the terms
associated with completing the form, please refer to the form itself."
Grading Policy:
- Internal Assignment Score: This
accounts for 30% of the final grade and is calculated based on the average of
the best three assignments out of all the assignments given in the course.
- Final Proctored Exam Score: This makes
up 70% of the final grade and is derived from the proctored exam score out of
100.
- Final Score: The final score is the
sum of the average assignment score and the exam score.
Eligibility for Certification:
- To qualify for a certificate, you must
achieve an average assignment score of at least 10 out of 30, and an exam score
of at least 30 out of 70. If one of the 2 criteria is not met, you will not get
the certificate even if the Final score >=40/100.
Certificate Details:
- The certificate will include your
name, photograph, roll number, and the percentage score from the final exam. It
will also feature the logos of the Ministry of Education, SWAYAM, and NITTTR.
- Certificate Format: Only electronic
certificates (e-certificates) will be issued; hard copies will not be
dispatched.
