In the new education policy, the educational institutes will be provided autonomy which will need upgradation of institute resources and development of systems to run the institute at upgraded level. Also in the current competitive environment, the engineering institutes have to keep abreast with the fast changing technological developments to develop employable skills in the pass-outs. The institute performance and preparedness in terms of resources, expertise, teaching-learning methodologies and evaluations systems need to be reviewed periodically to evaluate its efficacy and efficiency. This course has been designed to enable the faculty members to develop parameters for institute review, prepare for review process, mentor junior colleagues on implementing the outcomes of institute review and conduct peer review of other institutes.

The course aims at providing interactive MOOC learning experience and with a focus to train the in-service teachers. The learning effort required by the teachers for this module is 20 hours, which will include studying the e-content and related videos, completing activities and assignments.

Dr. Urmila Kar

Dr. Urmila Kar is working as Professor in the department of Education and Management of National Institute of Technical Teachers’ Training and Research (NITTTR) Kolkata. She has more than 33 years of experience in Teaching, Training and Research. She has conducted around 200 Short Term Training Programmes for Polytechnic and Engineering College Teachers and her areas of interest in training include Design and Implementation of Technical Curriculum, Competency Based Curriculum Design, Design and Implementation of Outcome Based Curriculum, Effective Teaching and Students’ performance Evaluation, Implementation of NEP 2020 etc. She has published more than 30 papers in various National, International Journals and Conference Proceedings and developed MOOCs on Teacher Education on SWAYAM.




Dr. Debi Prasad Mishra

National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research, Kolkata

Dr. Debi Prasad Mishra, a distinguished professor at IIT Kanpur, serves as Director at NITTTR Kolkata, Chairman at Govt. College of Engineering, Kalahandi, and adjunct Professor in Centre for Indian Knowledge System, IIT, Guwahati. With expertise in Propulsion, Combustion, and Fluid Dynamics, he held the Indian Oil Golden Jubilee Professional Chair. Prof. Mishra authored 5 textbooks, 9 edited books, and holds 7 patents. He published more than 269 papers, led with over 32 research and consultancy projects, and developed 6 Swayam courses. Notably, he created a MOOC on "Introduction to Ancient Indian Technology". Renowned for his lectures on ancient Indian science, spirituality, and eco-friendly technologies, Prof. Mishra is a popular motivational speaker, inspiring youth nationwide.

Course certificate

"The SWAYAM Course Enrolment and learning is free. However, to obtain a certificate, the learner must register and take the proctored exam in person at one of the designated exam centres. The registration URL will be announced by NTA once the registration form becomes available. To receive the certification, you need to complete the online registration form and pay the examination fee. Additional details, including any updates, will be provided upon the publication of the exam registration form. For more information about the exam locations and the terms associated with completing the form, please refer to the form itself."

 

Grading Policy:

 

- Internal Assignment Score: This accounts for 30% of the final grade and is calculated based on the average of the best three assignments out of all the assignments given in the course.

- Final Proctored Exam Score: This makes up 70% of the final grade and is derived from the proctored exam score out of 100.

- Final Score: The final score is the sum of the average assignment score and the exam score.

 

Eligibility for Certification:

 

- To qualify for a certificate, you must achieve an average assignment score of at least 10 out of 30, and an exam score of at least 30 out of 70. If one of the 2 criteria is not met, you will not get the certificate even if the Final score >=40/100.

Certificate Details:

 

- The certificate will include your name, photograph, roll number, and the percentage score from the final exam. It will also feature the logos of the Ministry of Education, SWAYAM, and NITTTR.

- Certificate Format: Only electronic certificates (e-certificates) will be issued; hard copies will not be dispatched.
