Dr. S. Sakthivel Murugan, obtained his B.E from Madras University and M.Tech from PondicherryUniversity. He received his PhD degree from Anna University. His research area is in underwater technology related to signal processing, Image processing, acoustic communication, acoustic wireless sensor networks, Green Energy Harvesting, and Underwater Robotics. He currently serves as professor in department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, NITTTR, Chennai. Prior to joining NITTTR he was an Associate Professor grade II in the Department of ECE, SSN since June 2001. He has completed and ongoing research projects funded by MoES, DST-SSTP, TNSCST, NIOT, and SSN Trust work for more than200 lakhs.
To his credit, he has authored and co-authored 52+ research articles on Underwater and UndergroundCommunication in leading International Journals including JASA, Sea Technology, Geo Marine Science,etc. He has also presented and published his research papers in 80+ proceedings of International andNational conferences.
He is a Life Member of Indian Society for technical education, Ocean Society of India, member of Acoustic Society of America since 2015. He has graduated 3 PhD scholars; 5 scholars are pursuing in which 4 have submitted thesis.
Dr. S. Sakthivel Murugan authored five books titled Principles of Analog and Digital Communication, Analog and Digital Communication, Principles of Communication, Communication Engineering andCommunication Theory and had reviewed 4 international edition books including Communication Systems by Simon Haykin. As of 2023, He has delivered invited talks in various forums across India and abroad.
"The SWAYAM Course Enrolment and learning is free. However, to obtain a certificate, the learner must register and take the proctored exam in person at one of the designated exam centres. The registration URL will be announced by NTA once the registration form becomes available. To receive the certification, you need to complete the online registration form and pay the examination fee. Additional details, including any updates, will be provided upon the publication of the exam registration form. For more information about the exam locations and the terms associated with completing the form, please refer to the form itself."
Grading Policy:
- Internal Assignment Score: This accounts for 30% of the final grade and is calculated based on the average of the best three assignments out of all the assignments given in the course.
- Final Proctored Exam Score: This makes up 70% of the final grade and is derived from the proctored exam score out of 100.
- Final Score: The final score is the sum of the average assignment score and the exam score.
Eligibility for Certification:
- To qualify for a certificate, you must achieve an average assignment score of at least 10 out of 30, and an exam score of at least 30 out of 70. If one of the 2 criteria is not met, you will not get the certificate even if the Final score >=40/100.
Certificate Details:
- The certificate will include your name, photograph, roll number, and the percentage score from the final exam. It will also feature the logos of the Ministry of Education, SWAYAM, and NITTTR.
- Certificate Format: Only electronic certificates (e-certificates) will be issued; hard copies will not be dispatched.
