Engineering Graphics is a foundational course designed to equip students with the essential skills required for technical drawing, visualization, and design communication in engineering. This course covers fundamental drawing techniques and the use of industry-standard software to create precise engineering drawings.

  1. Basic Elements of Drawing – Introduction to drawing instruments, line types, geometric constructions, scales, and dimensioning. Students will develop proficiency in creating accurate technical sketches and understanding standard drawing conventions.
  2. Orthographic Projections – Development of multi-view representations, including front, top, and side views. This module enhances spatial visualization skills and ensures students can interpret and create orthographic drawings following engineering standards.
  3. Isometric Views and Isometric Projections – Conversion between orthographic and isometric views, providing students with the ability to visualize 3D objects effectively. The module includes exercises on constructing isometric projections from given orthographic views.
  4. Freehand Sketching – Emphasizing quick and effective technical communication, students will practice freehand sketching of engineering components. This module enhances creativity and problem-solving abilities through hand-drawn representations.
  5. AutoCAD Software and Exercises – Introduction to computer-aided drafting using AutoCAD. Students will learn to create, modify, and annotate engineering drawings digitally, preparing them for modern industry practices.
By the end of this course, students will have a strong foundation in engineering drawing principles, enabling them to interpret and create technical designs essential for engineering applications.
