“Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all.” – Aristotle.

Guidance and counselling in educational institutions play a vital role in fostering students’ personal, academic, and emotional growth. As students navigate complex academic pressures and life transitions, guidance and counselling services offer structured support to help them develop clarity, resilience, and self-confidence. This course provides a foundational understanding of how individuals can be supported in making informed decisions, managing personal and academic challenges, and developing healthy coping skills. Through this course, you will develop essential knowledge, skills, and attitudes required for effective guidance and counselling in educational and organisational settings. Practical examples and case-based discussions will help you apply these concepts in real-life situations. By the end of the four weeks, you will have the competence to recognise when guidance is needed, understand when counselling is appropriate, and appreciate the professional role of a counsellor in supporting individual growth and well-being.
