Accreditation of Undergraduate Engineering Programme – As per SAR 2024-25

By Dr. R. K. Dixit & Dr. Sanjay Agrawal   |   National Institute of Technical Teachers’ Training and Research, Bhopal
Learners enrolled: 471

NBA accreditation is a quality assurance scheme for higher technical education. The National Board of Accreditation (NBA) has revised the Self-Assessment Report (SAR) format for Tier I engineering programs in July 2024 and for Tier II programs in January 2025, aligning with the Graduate Attributes and Professional Competencies (GAPC) Version 4.0 of the International Engineering Alliance. This revision represents a paradigm shift from documentation-focused accreditation to outcome-based evaluation, emphasizing real-world applications, industry readiness and in line with SDGs.

The new SAR format demands a comprehensive understanding of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) principles, enhanced CO-PO mapping methodologies, robust assessment strategies, and systematic continuous improvement processes. The focus of course will be Outcome based Curriculum, Teaching-learning and Assessment. Special emphasis will be on Knowledge & Attitude Profile, Assessment and Attainment of POs/ PSOs and Rubrics. This course is designed to equip faculty members from Tier I and Tier II engineering colleges with the necessary knowledge, skills, and tools to successfully implement the new NBA accreditation requirements. The course addresses critical gaps in understanding the revised criteria, provides hands-on experience with new documentation formats, and establishes a framework for sustainable quality assurance in engineering education.
